چکیده
Background: The spread of resistant bacteria has caused serious concern worldwide. multidrug-resistant (MDR) and extensive drug-resistant (XDR) limits the choice antibiotics, making available antibiotics less effective. Objectives: This study aimed to investigate resistance patterns seven global threatening organisms announced by Centers for Disease Control Prevention (CDC) one year in Iran, called ESKAPE (Enterococcus spp., Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Acinetobacter baumannii, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterobacter spp.). Methods: Clinical isolates were collected from 10 selective hospitals nine provinces. Antibiotic susceptibility testing was performed according Laboratory Standards Institute each bacterium. Results: A total 5522 bacterial species considered, which 30% ESKAPE. Multidrug-resistant A. baumannii aureus methicillin-resistant (MRSA) most identified Gram-negative -positive bacteria, with frequency 44% 39%, respectively. remaining including E. coli, K. spp. P. Enterococcus had 30%, 32%, 21%, 20%, 22%, Conclusions: determined antibiotic can help determine stewardship. Also, high rates Iran could be alarming healthcare centers not misuse broad-spectrum antibiotics.

Mechanisms of Antimicrobial Resistance in ESKAPE Pathogens
The ESKAPE pathogens (Enterococcus faecium, Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Acinetobacter baumannii, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Enterobacter species) are the leading cause of nosocomial infections throughout the world. Most of them are multidrug resistant isolates, which is one of the greatest challenges in clinical practice. Multidrug resistance is amongst the top three threats ...

results in general 438 urine isolates were obtained. e. coli was the most frequently occurring pathogen (54.80%), followed by klebsiella pneumoniae (16.0%), coagulase negative staphylococci (11.2%), enterobacter spp. (9.6%), proteus spp. 1.4% and p. aeruginosa (1.4%). resistance rates of e. coli isolates were 85.9% to co-trimoxazole, 80.0% to penicillin, 77.0% to ampicillin, 68.0% to chloramphe...
متن کاملEngineered cationic antimicrobial peptides to overcome multidrug resistance by ESKAPE pathogens.
Multidrug resistance constitutes a threat to the medical achievements of the last 50 years. In this study, we demonstrated the abilities of two de novo engineered cationic antibiotic peptides (eCAPs), WLBU2 and WR12, to overcome resistance from 142 clinical isolates representing the most common multidrug-resistant (MDR) pathogens and to display a lower propensity to select for resistant bacteri...
